Back Spin by Harlan Coben

Back Spin by Harlan Coben

This convoluted mystery story, set against a U.S. Open golf tournament, was entertaining once I got engaged with the style of writing, and bought into the idea that much of the story turns on the fact that a pro golfer wasn’t able to tell the difference between a six iron and an eight. The writing was similar in tone, for me, to Driving On The Rim by Thomas McGuane, at times whimsical, at times philosophical, almost always humorous. It is the fourth in a series following the adventures of Myron Bolitar, a sports agent and sleuth, and the first time I have read this bestselling author. I would read more from this writer.
