Impulse Control

White Queen can be had

She offers herself

A Pawn will be lost

Pawns exchanged

Bishops compromised

Lost Knights

Black Queen pinned

Black King  mated

Hold back

Shun the White Queen

Escape the trap

Take her on your terms

Or leave her

To her mated King

Waiting Game

positions set

they wait

Queens, pawns

knights, rooks

who will move them

they wait

Impulse Control and Waiting Game

Vague Visions

Time’s presence every instant lifts

As present, past becomes

Our world in somber silence, shifts

Life’s silent track our sum

Our hopes in flux, beliefs mistrust

Truth, timeless, be held fast

The true and instant answer thrust

So soon to be the past

Our small safe space may soon be blown

In ways for us unknown

While wise, the world has always known

The paths that will be sown

Comes constant change, no past is sought

Yet patterns will not bow

Vague visions, restive subtle thought

Refined reflections flow

No comfort, paths that are not clear

For life, to live, no strife

Our answer here, no pregnant fear

Sang free and fragrant life

And now a time to live and sow

Our world, our home, secure

Near future clear, new challenge grow

And endless time obscure
